How to be happy

Being happy is something that is worked on everyday, in all the day to day activities we do. It's mindset and some days are easy and some days are hard. But there are simple things we are can remind ourselves to do everyday to be happy:

1. Be Grateful. Gratitude is the start of happiness. When we recognize our blessings and are happy with what we have now, we are able to be happy with our job and ambitions. Gratitude starts a positive ripple effect in our lives, it's a positive mindset that we can apply in our communications and endeavors which can perpetually increase our happiness.

2. Challenge Yourself. When we stop challenging ourselves we can start to feel miserable or disengaged in our lives. Our self worth can plummet because we don't feel like we're living up to our full potential. Start by trying to do one thing per day or week that challenges you and stretches you. Learn a new hobby, take on a new project, volunteer, do something different and outside of your day to day routine. As the expression states, "if you're not growing, your dying." Keep growing and maximize the time you have here on Earth!

3. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others. Comparison is one of the biggest blows that diminishes our happiness. When we compare ourselves to others we are marginalizing our own worth and life value, which drains our happiness and creates thoughts such as, "I'm not good enough." Start by acknowledging what you have accomplished and identifying what you love about yourself. Ask yourself, what type of life do I want to lead and what can I do to create it? We are all different people, on different paths, with different goals. Since we're all on different journeys, comparison doesn't provide a clear apples to apples perspective and it gives false data, remember that! You're exactly where you need to be!
